Publisher's Summary
“Lengard is a secret government facility for extraordinary people,” they told me.
I believed them. That was my mistake.
There isn’t anyone else in the world like me.
I’m different. I’m an anomaly. I’m a monster.
For two years, six months, fourteen days, eleven hours and sixteen minutes, Subject Six-Eight-Four - ‘Jane Doe’ - has been locked away and experimented on, without uttering a single word.
As Jane’s resolve begins to crack under the influence of her new - and unexpectedly kind - evaluator, she uncovers the truth about Lengard’s mysterious ‘program’, discovering that her own secret is at the heart of a sinister plot...and one wrong move, one wrong word, could change the world.
Critic Reviews
"Compulsively readable, compellingly narrated, and so full of twists and turns that I couldn't put it down until I'd turned the final page. I loved every sentence of Whisper." (Sarah J. Maas, #1 New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of the Throne of Glass series)
"A gripping and heart wrenching tale. I was enthralled." (Maria Snyder, New York Times best-selling author)

Great YA read
Loved this book. Fun story and quite a unique premise. Perfect for tweens and teens and overtired mums who can’t bare to read proper adult books anymore haha

relatable characters. GREAT beginning.
Best start of a book since The Ill-Made Mute. Easy to listen to. FANTASTIC to hear accents from Australia- especially because they're real - NOT exaggerations. Love the story and the character development.

All the feelings!
Both the performance and the story were amazing! I was floored by the emotional turmoil i felt. So many tears and breath catching moments, thankfully some giggles too. Highly recommend this book💜

How is this not a movie yet?
I binge-listened to this, I'm so glad the sequel is already available. Fairly thinly-veiled metaphor of the power of your voice, which I loved. Tamala Shelton is my new favourite narrator.

Interesting
The narrator is acceptable but rather monotone. Which is not necessarily bad in this book. But doesn't get in on the action when it is occurring. Make it more difficult to form relationships with the characters. We're left not really knowing what happened and being able to see some of the future loopholes for ourselves. Which is rather annoying. I am inclined to read the second book, but I note I've so far been able to resist due to wanting to read other books more. So although I do want to know what happens next, clearly it's not enveloped me as other stoies do.

What a surprise!
This is a fantastic book and was a wonderful surprise. Well written and beautifully narrated. If you enjoyed The Hunger Games, Divergent and Harry Potter you should enjoy this book.
Whilst this book reminds me of the above mentioned books in small ways it is most definitely it’s own unique, imaginative story.
