About this listen
NATIONAL BESTSELLER
The North Korean defector, human rights advocate, and bestselling author of In Order to Live sounds the alarm on the culture wars, identity politics, and authoritarian tendencies tearing America apart.
After defecting from North Korea, Yeonmi Park found liberty and freedom in America. But she also found a chilling crackdown on self-expression and thought that reminded her of the brutal regime she risked her life to escape. When she spoke out about the mass political indoctrination she saw around her in the United States, Park faced censorship and even death threats.
In While Time Remains, Park highlights the dangerous hypocrisies, mob tactics, and authoritarian tendencies that speak in the name of wokeness and social justice. No one is spared in her eye-opening account, including the elites who claim to care for the poor and working classes but turn their backs on anyone who dares to think independently.
Park arrived in America eight years ago with no preconceptions, no political aims, and no partisan agenda. With urgency and unique insight, the bestselling author and human rights activist reminds us of the fragility of freedom, and what we must do to preserve it.

Amazing! Wake up America.
A captivating memoir that delves into the harsh realities of life under an oppressive regime and the author’s extraordinary journey to freedom. Park’s story is an emotionally charged account that sheds light on the indomitable human spirit and the pursuit of liberty.
What sets this apart is Park’s ability to not only share her personal experiences but also call out Western universities, elites, and the emerging culture wars. She fearlessly highlights the complexities of the world we live in, questioning the role and responsibilities of institutions and individuals in shaping the global narrative.

Didn’t like as much as the first
I loved Yeonmi Park’s first book, so I decided to listen to this. I enjoyed it, fascinating insight in the state of the Western World, particularly America but the narrator was hard to listen to. I found it quite irritating and much prefer the narrator of In Order to Live. Still, worth a listen.

Very timely book
People in the west definitely need to read this. Written by someone who has actually lived in a communist state. Warning us all about the cliff we are headed towards.

My Therapy
A true reminder of how privileged the Western World is. This book had me crying and angry. Also fearful for our world ahead.
A book I encourage everyone should read
