About this listen
The David Gemmell Award-shortlisted author of Age of Iron returns with the final book in his West of West trilogy, in which a mismatched group of refugees must battle monsters, an unforgiving land and each other as they cross a continent to fulfil a prophecy.
Battling across the Shining Mountains, the questers discover a land more terrifying and filled with more dangerous creatures than they could ever have imagined - and they've fought thunder lizards. The tentatively allied Wootah and Calnians must survive monster attacks, flash floods and tornadoes to uncover the secret of The Meadows. And then comes the hard part. To save themselves and everybody else they will travel west of west, deeper into danger, and do all that they can to defeat a goddess who has already killed all the other gods.

loved it. loved all three books in this series. I'm sad that it's finished. The characters are very relatable. A perfect mix of drama and humour. I want more!!!

A rollicking tale
I have really enjoyed this trilogy. I too, like a previous reviewer found the characters in the first book, just silly. Thankfully as the reviewer suggested to persist I am pleased I did and was really happy to have be taken for the ride to the satisfied conclusion. Sean Barrett is a brilliant performer for these characters as usual.

Great trilogy- final book could have been better
I love this author, narrator, and trilogy - love love love! BUT, I did feel like this final book was a bit rushed. Why spend time wrapping up Erik the Angry's fate if not the rest of the group? The action was well-paced and the characters all did what they were supposed to in this action-packed conclusion, but ZIP as fast as Paloma Pronghorn the book ended and I was left asking many questions. I needed some closure. Maybe it was so good I just didn't want it to end? I did notice some errors- at least two - in which characters who were in another location were suddenly running from monsters with the current group and I don't know if those were writing or a reading/narration errors. Thanks for the series Gus and Sean - I just want more really.
