About this listen
Emily Charlton is back. Bestselling author Lauren Weisberger returns with a deliciously entertaining new novel starring fan favourite from The Devil Wears Prada.
*Published in the UK as The Wives*
Don’t get mad. Get Emily.
Emily Charlton does not do the suburbs. A successful stylist and image consultant to Hollywood stars, she cut her teeth as assistant to legendary fashion editor Miranda Priestly in New York. But with social media-obsessed millennials stealing her clients, Emily needs to get back in the game – and fast.
She holes up at the home of her oldest friend Miriam in the upscale suburb of Greenwich. And when Miriam’s friend, model Karolina Hartwell, is publicly dumped by her husband Graham, a senator with presidential ambitions, Emily scents the client of a lifetime.
It’s not just Karolina’s reputation that’s ruined. It’s her family. And Miriam and Emily are determined he won’t get away with it. First they’ll get Karolina’s son back. Then they’ll help her get her own back.
Because when life gives you lemons, buy tequila . . .

Loved it!
Was a great listen whilst in isolation #covid-19
Was sick of TV, Netflix, Internet etc.
So a book was the perfect thing to take my mind off doomsday.

Characters moving on
Emily, Miranda’s stylist.
Miriam, Emily’s friend.
Karolina, a dumped client.
Story of revenge, getting back on track, being good friends.
This was a good story, with plenty of deviousness.
Whacky, daring and totally bad-a....sed.
Good read/listen.

Easy and fun to listen to
Easy listening. Predictable story but for its type a great listen. Witty too. Author created a lovely bond of friendship. I want more like this.

A fun book
The story was interesting enough to keep me engaged. The ending was a bit predictable, but wrapped everything up neatly. The narrator did a good job in distinguishing between the characters.

A lovely listen.
At first I found it a bit jarring that Emily was suddenly American after being English since the Devil Wears Prada. Not at all consistent with the other two books
Once I got over this, When Life Gives You Lululemons was an okay listen. The stories were not as riveting as before but engaging enough that I wanted to know how they ended.

Good read with all the feels
Great book. such stronger female characters. A lot better than the second book. only issue is that the character of Emily was British in the first two books and now she is American.

A brilliant audio performance of a fun story!
When ex-supermodel, Karolina, is charged with drunk-driving and her senator husband publicly denounces her, her life comes crashing down. She’ll need the help of her old friend and lawyer, Miriam, and blunt PR consultant and ex-Runway assistant, Emily Charlton. This is probably my most favourite of The Devil Wears Prada series. It was fun to see these three women set their sights on a powerful bully and especially great to see Emily’s take-no-prisoners attitude at work. There was obvious social commentary about the idea that women need to stay alluring to ‘keep their man interested’; sadly, it feels like men still have so much of the power in marriage because they are more willing to walk away. Laura Benanti’s audio narration really enhanced my experience of this book: she truly performed the different roles, her expression and comedic timing was pitch perfect, and I’d be keen to listen to anything else she narrates.

Not for me
I managed to get to chapter 7 and just couldn’t continue. Was going nowhere. Just not my cup of tea.

A bit tacky
I didn’t enjoy the story very much - a bit predictable . Finished it hoping it would improve
