I had great fun writing this novel. It came about because of all the conversations I had with people about whether Trump would get us into a nuclear war. Of course, if that happened no one would be around to write anything, but what would people do if an electromagnetic pulse hit, wiping out the electrical grid and electronic gear?

I took it seriously and tried to write something realistic. I used all the knowledge I'd gained living off-grid for four years. Of course, I had to keep my 69 Ford pickup running. See what role the pickup plays in this novel, and more importantly, what the average person might do to cope without modern conveniences in the short and long term.
