Publisher's Summary

As survivors come together in the wake of a zombie apocalypse, a deadly new menace emerges, in this dystopian horror series.

After nearly four years, the zombie epidemic has almost burned itself out. Once a lone survivor on the brink of insanity, Gus Berry has a new life on a communal farm, his daily routine of policing the fields only rarely disrupted by straying undead. Gus’s drinking binges are over, and the dark days of Annapolis are soon to be a distant memory. But his troubles are far from over . . .

When Gus is asked to search for a group of missing scavengers, he reluctantly agrees. But he soon discovers a new predator has been unleashed upon the land, one determined to harvest every last mortal life—and feed it to a ravenous machine.

No bullshit zombie

Just straight up rollicking fun. No overly complicated social issues here. Just brutal storytelling at its best.

Great end to a great series

I couldn't stop listening to these books. The author is so descriptive that it I got plenty of laughs. The story is really enthralling, you don't really know what's coming next. I feel like I know Gus after this.

Wonderfully written story

For one who doesn't even like horror or zombie fic, this reader hungrily read my way through the Mountain Man series books 1-4, after getting a taste of the free; The Hospital (read by RC Bray).

I was completely hooked, and simply *had* to know what happened next. I'm very sad this is the last we'll hear of Gus, but what a great adventure he took us on! 😃

Mountain Man, book 4

I use to think Rick Grimes was the saviour of the human race, I was wrong. His name was Gus. Finished the story on the bus into work. Jesus if I didnt have a tear in my eye when he found Scott. 59 years old and crying on the bus to work, what next? R C Bray you're a legend.
