About this listen

With nowhere to go, no one to help her, Leigh fled into the arms of Luke Casteel! Leigh Van Voreen had to escape from Boston's Farthinggale Manor. The foul secret she harbored within her seemed to darken her life forever. Jillian, her mother, would not believe her...and Tony Tatterton, her stepfather, had betrayed her most cruelly.

But the pure devotion of Luke Casteel promised her hope and respect. Only Luke knew her deepest of secrets...only Luke would love and protect her. Bravely, she bore the suspicions of the Willies' hillfolk as she tried to grasp the happiness that had so long eluded her. Leigh prayed with all her heart that her bright, shining dreams would save her from tragedy at last....

Great book - bad narration

I loved this book and how it wraps the casteel series up. However the narration definitely took away the greatness. She whispered most of the story at times almost inaudible.

Narration terrible

For some reason the narrator whispered a lot - this made it difficult to modulate volume and I kept having to turn the volume up and down to hear her. Very annoying and difficult to follow because of this.

Awful narrator!

Why is she whispering??? I cannot stand this narrator. Why on earth would they use her slow, awkward, wispy, irritating voice to tell a story? I love this book and really want to hear the story while at work like the other 4 books but I just don't know if I can deal with her all the way through, I'm cringing so much.

Can’t do it

I loved every other book in this series but I can’t listen to this narration and the story so far seems to not blend with what I already know about the characters. It would have been better to leave it at book 4. This feels more like a fan-fiction that an actual part in a series i’m sorry to say.
