Publisher's Summary

Lexi Sobado is a young woman with a special gift: She's psychic. But even knowing things others don't, Lexi's unable to avoid genuine danger when a stalker focuses his evil on her. As the situation escalates, she must navigate through a sinister web of fear and danger to stay alive.

When the madman forces his way into Lexi's home, she sustains near-fatal injuries. Lexi's survival means she is the only one who can identify the stalker, and she becomes the critical witness who might hold the key to stopping the murderer terrifying the families of Washington's elite intelligence agencies.

Striker Rheas, an ex-Navy SEAL, and his team of expert operators are charged with protecting Lexi. The more time Striker spends on this security assignment, the more trouble he has maintaining the boundaries of professionalism. He knows Lexi is keeping secrets, and protecting her is not going to be an easy task if he's missing vital information...and losing his heart to her.

Somewhere between peril and resolve, Striker must find a way to help Lexi trust. What she hides, what she reveals, and what she uncovers will need to find the perfect balance if she's going to save her own life and stop the killer. And time is running out.

action plus and it keeps you guessing. supernatural is a great twist

Geez Louise!!!
I listened to Fiona's k9 books
And seeing as lynx was mentioned I decided to go back to her first book.
It started slowly and in typical Fiona form, nothing was given away and I had to discover as I listened along.
The plotline splits as the h's story slowly unfurls and she solves one mission the team is working on and then swings into action for her own dilemma.
The only thing I struggled with was the age of the main characters. Very young for so much training and compitent abilities. So many accomplishments you'd think she's in her 50's. And she did get Injured a hell of a lot.
A few reviews stated this was the major issue they had with this book.
Although, for me, at times, her actual character responses did fit her age.
Fionas writing and witty dialogue was enjoyable, however I found emotions the h should have experienced didn't grasp me.
The descriptions did, that was brilliant.
The supernatural element created great page turning drama and action.
While there is no romance or steam the plot was all go.
The workings of the H figuring out the connection with the h and then the team realising had me smiling.
I enjoyed these elements to the end. And this enemy h
Geez , he just goes on. It's a pity the accomplishments the h has doesn't gel with her age. And her fear of her dilemma doesn't seem to phase her. It all comes through the supernatural and the cleverly written word.
Narration was great. Jesse did a great job with accents and tone.
