About this listen

'We all have to do our part if we’re to survive the coming storm.'

Alexandra Jennings might be the hero of The Medoran Chronicles, but she would be lost without her three closest friends. They are her heroes, and like all heroes, they each have their own story.

Meet the real D.C. in 'Crowns and Curses' and discover how she becomes the princess Alex once despised but now adores.

Follow Jordan on his healing journey in 'Scars and Silence' as he struggles in the wake of being rescued from his living nightmare.

Walk beside Bear in 'Hearts and Headstones' as he faces an unspeakable trauma while helping his world prepare for the coming war.

D.C., Jordan and Bear are the heroes of their own stories.

It is time for their stories to be told.

Great book, not great voices

Great book, loved this and all the other titles in the Medoran Chronicles. But I was not a fan of the voice actor of Bears story, most of it was fine but the voice he did for Declan was awful, it made him sound like a 40 year old Elvis impersonater

We Three Heroes

I loved seeing the story from the perspectives of these characters. It has added great depth to the series.

Great stories to get to know our favourite friends

I enjoyed getting to know how DC, Jordan and Bear think and their motivations and fears. Lovely addition to the series!

the voices are so different but a must read

the voices for each of the 3 storys where so wildly different from each other and the main novels I found it jarring and hard to follow who was speaking occasionally.
but overall an amazing companion book to the series that gives insights only hinted at previously. I love the retelling of the same events from a different characters perspectives.

Great little extra

This was a great point of view description of the battle from beginning to end and the aftermath from each characters eyes.

Great insight

A great add-on to the Medoran Chronicles. A little thrown off by the narrators but it didn't take away from the stories at all.

the narration was horrible! but the story was ok

the narration was horrible, the first narrator, the one for D.Cs one was too soft and childish, making 13 year old D.C sound like an 8 year old. the second narrator, the one for Jordan's one was just plain out robotic and monotonous, he had no feeling or expression in his voice, it sounded just like a robot. compared to him bear's narrator was a bit better, but only by 10%. he still made all the people sound like they were deep voiced thieves who were booming or growling. i was utterly annoyed by this!!!! it made me so super frustrated that i could only bear it up till the first chapter of scars and secrets (?) then i basically skipped to the next chapters, only stopping here and there until i got to bears which was also bad so i just gave up.
the story was much better than the narration, but still, WHY was D.C so annoyingly sensitive that she broke into tears every other day? SIGH!!!! this book overall only deserves a 2.5 stars.... compared to the actual series this is horrible..

Good Backstory for the other books

I loved the book. It helped me understand the other four books. Though I do wish different people did the voice overs.
