Publisher's Summary
Demon spawn, they call him. Evil seed of the UnNamed One. Lirak wonders if they might be right. Sent on a holy quest to test his prophetic dreams, he returns to find his people scattered or slaughtered. Ruthless invaders and their dread warlocks spread death and destruction across the land. Before he can lead the remnants of his people in vengeance, Lirak must win their trust. But blades and arrows alone will not defeat this enemy. His only hope is to master warlock sorcery, turning their own fell powers against them. Can he learn their arcane secrets in time, or will the deadly power consume him? Only the seven gods could know, but they war amongst themselves, and Lirak is a pawn in their divine conflict. Even if he defeats the invaders, he fears his trials are just beginning.

Not very interesting.
Its like if you follow the perspective of one pawn in a game of chess with the added bonus of shoveling some mystery sand on the board then I guess you could enjoy this. Everything about the novel seems contrived from the magic item that only pretain to him, The relationships, beast companions etc. I don't even know how the other characters can function without the MC or the elders around. I don't believe the dream/seer/vision this was fleshed out enough. being able to see the future, slow down time perspective in combat, use warlock abilities while straight up overpowering a 'red' robe with next to no experience with it is baffling.
Never mind that the prophecy and god stuff makes the story lose even more stakes. while they try to dilute this concept with the talk with derek its obvious the everytime the story hits a wall the author can just use these elements to write himself out of it.
The way tech is explained is super bad as well. They talk about things like chainmail and wagons like they are the new iphone or something when they are the basic of the basics for the genre.
Ill end it there but those are my prevailing issues.
I proberbly won't continue with the series.
