Hopeful new series
It took me a while to get into this book, I’m a huge fan of the other series. I did find the narrator tending to have little variety in voices and all female characters tended to sound the same. I’m looking forward to see where this series goes.

Great, fun listen
I've had a great time listening to the books in this series and how they tie in with the stories from the other sets. After briefly meeting Kit in the other books, it's nice to be able to delve deeper into his storyline and the character is just generally fun.

Not as good as the other two Codex series
At first I didn't think I could make it through the whole book. The first characters introduced seemed so cliché and shallow. Where's the interest in another smart ass white dude and some cranky cops? But the magic was fun and the adventure developed as it went along. Eventually two new & more inventive characters were added and Kit's personality grew on me. However, his gimmick of being a pop culture buff falls flat with his references being decades out of date.
