It helps if you're a bit warped too!
When I read stories where the endings are left 'up in the air', for our own interpretation, I feel quite frustrated! This set of 11 stories have quite a few endings like that, but frustration aside I did enjoy each one. A scarecrow with more than straw inside has a beautiful bond with an abused boy, a game of poker where the winner really does take all, finding the best candidate for a very special job, and lots more. Some were short, some better than others, but when each one had finished I had to press the pause button so I could think about it. To me, that is the sign of a good story,
