Publisher's Summary

Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II, which begins with The Winds of War and continues here in War and Remembrance, stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

These multimillion-copy best sellers are stirringly read by Kevin Pariseau for their first appearance in downloadable audio.

Critic Reviews

"Brilliant…. An outstanding novel and at the same time a great work of history…. Wouk has more than recaptured the period; he has given it life." (Henry Kissinger)
"Those who lived through World War II can most fully appreciate the resonances in this uncommonly readable book. But it is clearly meant – and recommended – for those who did not." ( Time)
"Moving, thrilling fiction…. Wouk is a magnificent storyteller." ( Boston Globe)

An absolutely amazing audiobook

Having read the hard copy of both Winds of War, and War and Remembrance some years ago, I greatly looked forward to listening to both of these audiobooks. I was not disappointed. I regard these books as perhaps the finest, most complete narrative of the Second World War ever written. Further, by employing the fictional family and extended family of Victor Henry, and the created work of General Amin von Roon, Wouk weaves an incredibly accurate coverage of the war into a very believable and interesting story. But, the audio book. Quite simply, outstanding. The narrator, Kevin Pariseau does an amazing job. Somehow, over the nearly 100 hours of these two works combined, he maintains a consistency of believable accents for all of the main characters. If you are familiar with these works, and respect the incredible story woven by Wouk, you will not be disappointed by the outstanding job done by Pariseau, and Audible, in presenting them. Absolutely outstanding.

A great audiobook, beautifully narrated and a long, weaving, compelling tale. between the two books, it's 100 hours well spent.

War II - A narrative of World Change

Well researched documentary on World War II made more interesting with fiction interwoven. I really enjoyed this book which provided insights behind the politics and strategies of the struggle between nations for world domination and order. A great sequel to 'Winds of War'.
