About this listen
A billionaire who wants a perfect wife...
At 35, Marcus Carelli has it all: wealth, power, and the kind of looks that leave women breathless. A self-made billionaire, he heads one of the largest hedge funds on Wall Street and can take down major corporations with a single word. The only thing he’s missing? A wife who’d be as big of an achievement as the billions in his bank account.
A cat lady who needs a date...
Twenty-six-year-old bookstore clerk Emma Walsh has it on good authority that she’s a cat lady. She doesn’t necessarily agree with that assessment, but it’s hard to argue with the facts. Raggedy clothes covered with cat hair? Check. Last professional haircut? Over a year ago. Oh, and three cats in a tiny Brooklyn studio? Yep, she’s got those.
And yes, fine, she hasn’t had a date since...well, she can’t recall. But that part is fixable. Isn’t that what the dating sites are for?
A case of mistaken identity...
One high-end matchmaker, one dating app, one mix-up that changes everything...opposites may attract, but can this last?

Loved it!
The cover and the title drew me in and the storyline was even better than I expected. I listened to the audio in one sitting, unable to stop. A mixup with a dating site meet up brings total opposites Emma and Marcus together. Not a great start but as they say opposites attract. Love these two and now I have to wait til February for the next book. Waah! It can’t come quick enough. Absolutely loved it!

Great Story
I thoroughly enjoy this book with my favourite narrators. Two people from different ends of the wealth scale fall in love but are tormented by their beliefs & lessons they have each learned in life. Looking forward to listening to book 2.

occasion humour elevated from 2.5
I hesitate to read the rich guy poor girl storylines now, as just seem too old fashioned and perpetuating stereotypes and myths of the man coming to save the poor little girl. I went with the reviews and took a chance, also knowing I would have to wait for 2nd book - thanks reviewers. for its genre, it was okay - not a complete waste of time and money. the elements of humour and narrators (particularly male) kept me listening and wanting to find out about their journey together. I did struggle with the over domineering traits of make lead, normally earning signs for an abusive partner, but he regularly just managed to save himself. there was the one time though, where he was apparently worried about a snowstorm and blackout affecting Emma....and he didn't even call to check. she could have died dude if that were true! some of the funnier moments were just between Marcus and cats.
