Publisher's Summary
When Ryan Clooney moves to the outskirts of his small town, the last thing he expects to find is love. Cursed to always be single, he’s burned out on blind dates and pity “plus-ones”. He’s through waiting for "the One" to arrive. But once he meets Maggie - the beautiful, young widow next door - his plans change.
Maggie O’Malley is not looking for love. Since losing her husband, she has withdrawn from small-town life and prefers to be left alone. But her new neighbor doesn’t seem to understand personal privacy, and the more he intrudes in her solitary life, the more she remembers how wonderful friendship can be.
Determined to reach Maggie’s heart, Ryan has an awakening of his own and learns what love is all about.

At times frustrating…
I listen to the audio book. The performance was excellent. What was frustrating was the main character Maggie. I wanted her to get over losing her husband but she loved being in a quagmire of depressive emotions. I get that each person grieves differently. But over half this book was her trying to self inflict herself with guilt to be happy. At times it was almost too much. Thank goodness for the caring, kind and super patient Ryan. He was a saint of men. Loved his family. Loved Maggie’s sister. So glad when the story moved to Maggie having a more positive relationship with Ryan. Glad it had a hea. Unfortunately because of Maggie’s emotional hang ups I wouldn’t listen/read this book again. That part of the novel was just too much. Ms Michaels should have given Maggie the ability to be more emotionally open earlier.
