About this listen
New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of science fiction, urban fantasy, and paranormal romance brings another action-, adventure-, and suspense-filled story to transport listeners out of this world.
Prince Viper d'Rojah, a warrior from the Sarafin cat shifter species, is not happy when he is sent on a special mission by his older brother, Vox, King of the Sarafin. The mission is to deliver important documents to the human authorities before kidnapping the sister and grandmother of Vox's mate, Riley. He has handled tougher assignments in his sleep and just wants to get back to finding the traitors trying to kill him and his family!
Tina St. Claire was finally happy with her life until her big sister, Riley, suddenly disappeared. Even Grandma Pearl suspected that Riley's ex-employer was hiding something. Determined to find Riley, Tina's research unwittingly leads the danger to her and Grandma Pearl. The unexpected arrival of a strange man causes things to go from bad to worse when he gives her and Grandma Pearl a packet of material he claims is from Riley. Riley had warned Viper that neither her sister nor Grandma Pearl would willingly come with him. Viper couldn't care less whether the females wanted to come or not; he had never failed a mission and wasn't about to start now.
Viper soon discovers this mission has turned into the most important one of his life when both he and his cat recognize that Tina is their mate. Now, he has to keep Tina and her gun-toting grandmother alive. The question is, who is going to save him when both women discover his plans to kidnap them?

2nd book.
This is a continuation of the story. I enjoyed the story. The female mc had trauma in her past and this had effected her, until she met her mate. There is a back story which weaves through the book and holds all the series together.
The narration was good.

Another funny action packed romance.
I’ve really enjoyed grandma pearl and the chicken in this story I was lol a lot. With another kick ass female character and a loving shifter alien what more could you want. The narrator is also fantastic doing the different characters voices and accents.

Loved this in ebook form but in audible OMG.
AUDIBLE
Loved this in eBook form but in audible OMG. The humorous antics at the beginning of this book had me laughing out loud. Though I must admit some of the actions bordered on being cruel and mean.
BOOK REVIEW
Grandma Pearl made this book for me, what a character.
Viper is highly insulted to be sent to earth to babysit two human women and bring them back to Baade.
Poor Viper gets way more than he bargained for when he finally makes it to earth. In his own words ‘“I’ve been shot in the ass, multiple times, drugged, multiple times, locked in an animal cage, had my intestines melted, been captured and held in a prison cell.’
Tina is just as strong as her sister Riley but not as loud and argumentative. I really liked her and how she just got on and did things but would not be pushed past a certain point.
Whilst I loved this story and all the carrying on and crazy humour that we enjoyed, I feel like Viper and Tina were not given enough star time in their relationship. It all started well, felt rushed on the ship then Tina just told Viper everything that was wrong in her life, said she had missed him and they were together and eloping.
All of these stories overlap in time frame and whilst this can be read on its own it makes much more sense if you have read some of the other books in this series, like Cornering Carmen and Choosing Riley.
I have reread this series so many times and still love it. Ms Smith’s books are my go to when I need to relax and laugh.
