La segona part, "Flors de debò", és un recull de trenta-vuit peces que Rodoreda va donar per acabat prop de vint anys abans, a Ginebra, mentre escrivia La plaça del diamant, és a dir en el moment en què reprenia la carrera literària que la guerra i l'exili li havien fet interrompre.
