Publisher's Summary
Do you find yourself struggling to meet your day-to-day living expenses? Do you have mountains of debilitating debt? Are you stuck in a career where you aren’t happy? Are you longing to escape the rat race and pressures of city dwelling? Do you want more freedom and control over your life?
I want to share with you a unique solution I found to solve these pressing problems. It’s a lifestyle phenomenon called “van boondocking”. It’s cheap, it’s crazy, it’s total freedom, and it may just be the leap you need to take.
Van boondocking is not just the adventure of a lifetime. The successful transition to this lifestyle means that the adventure can be what your life is composed of all the time.
Imagine waking up to birds chirping, the sound of a gently rolling creek, or to that warm percolator of coffee brewed over the embers of a dying campfire. That’s nice for a weekend, but what if you lived like that full time?
In this audiobook, I give you the practical advice to get you started on the basic steps of your own van boondocking adventure. At the heart of this lifestyle is simple living, done on your own terms. With this audiobook, I show you exactly where to begin on your new, nomadic escapades.
Here's what you'll learn in this book:
- What exactly boondocking is
- Why should you embark on this huge change of lifestyle
- What boondocking is really like first-hand
- How to live comfortably out of your van, car, truck, or RV
- How to deal with insects
- What to do about changes in climate
- How to deal with meal preparation
- How to function with reduced space
- How to engage in boondocking with Fido
I’m not here to sugarcoat this lifestyle choice for you. Boondocking may not be the ideal solution for everyone. In this book, we will talk about the nitty-gritty that is living out of a vehicle rather than a brick-and-mortar house.
You'll find information on:
- Is it for you?
- The pros and cons
- The costs
- Vehicle expenses
- Upkeep
- Remodeling
- Parking and camping
- Choosing a vehicle
When you pick which vehicle you want to use for your grand adventure, I will give you a realistic look at converting that vehicle into your full time domicile - in just a week! Once you have your vehicle ready, we’ll really dive into what it’s truly like in the day-to-day.
This audiobook offers a peek on these additional topics:
- Boondocking concerns and safety
- Safety issues
- Ways to deter crime
- Where to stay
- Free places
- Stealth camping in urban areas
- Paid camping
- Tidiness
- Showers
- Bathrooms
- Psychological health
Finally, we will talk about that all-important issue of how to make a living while boondocking. Even though your monthly costs will be considerably lower, you will have to make some money to pay for food, gas, and other essentials.
Additionally, you'll gain information about:
- Job ideas
- Overcoming challenges to working
- Vital tips and tricks
- Ideas for cutting monthly costs
- Choosing your amenities
- Carefully choosing locations
- Save money by changing your eating habits
With this audiobook as the first step of your new lifestyle adventure, you can quickly and easily be on your way to the life you’ve always imagined.
What are you waiting for? Take the leap!

Undoubtedly A Beginner's Guide
There's no denying that to create a single audio book that encapsulates the enormity of what's required to van life/boondocking would rival 'War & and Peace.'
This book does a fantastic job at giving a birds eye view of preparing and living on the road.
What it also does well is lightly touch on the many faces of boondocking without going into much depth.
My recommendation would be to create a list of the many topics covered in this book and then do your own research online through forums and YouTube.
Do NOT go into this book with the hope that it will give you everything you require to succeed in boondocking.
However, it certainly is a great place to start for the fledgling and curious.
Additionally, the narrator seems to yell at a dog at some point. Interesting feller...
