About this listen
An MM romance story of survival, healing, and finding the courage to love.
Harper Reid has no money and nowhere to go, but he can't spend one more day under the same roof as his abusive boyfriend. Desperate to start fresh, he takes on a special case through the caregiver agency that contracts him. The client has fired everyone else, but this job includes lodging, so Harper will find a way to make it work until he's back on his feet.
High-flying, eccentric Riley Davenport has lost his sight, effectively clipping the vivacious man's wings. Learning to navigate in darkness is difficult enough without being treated like a house plant by his girlfriend, parents, and friends. The last thing he needs is another pushy caregiver, hovering over him curtailing the last of his freedom.
But Harper Reid is different...very different. Nervous, quiet, reserved. It's almost like Harper has secrets and is the one who needs to be taught how to live again. And why does he smell like sugar cookies? Men aren't supposed to smell delicious.
Trigger warnings: off-screen domestic abuse, adult language, explicit consensual sexual content.

Brilliance
My first listen to a Dianna Roman novel and it was a most excellent experience. So great to have a lead character with a disability handled so sensitively and with humour & love. It gets a little angsty now and then but the book deals with some heavy topics so I guess only to be expected. There are laugh out loud moments through this audiobook, contrasted with some quite harrowing, serious chapters.
The narrators are very good as usual.

Love Riley as he is cheeky determined and has an answer for most things. Harper is a lucky man to have Riley.

Loved it loved it loved it
This was such a lovely listen. The narration was great. The journey these two went on together to find themselves and each other was so wonderful. Laughed out loud, got a little teary, loved the steamy scenes.
Highly recommend for a cute slow/mid burn mm romance

A big grin worthy story. Highly recommend.
So loved this book. Had me with a big grin on my face through so much of the story. The ups and downs were so well written. The narrators were superb. So heart warming and enjoyable. I will certainly search for more from this author and the narrators.

Loved it
One of the first in the genre that had me laughing out loud throughout.
It does a good job of incorporating the difficult topic of DV, touches on the realities of coming out of it.
Add in a touch of meta mm romance/audiobooks.
Would completely recommend.

Added to my favourites 5*
This was a suprise. The blurb captured my attention and a favourite narrator was an extra draw. Thoroughly enjoyed the writing, the narration, and the story kept me up into the wee hours. Highly recommend this book.

Story of Riley and Harper
This is a boss/employee to lovers romance, featuring Riley and Harper, and is the first book in the Broken Hearts series.
When I read another one of Dianna’s books this week, this one popped up in my head, it made me want to reread it as I loved it the first time.
This book, swoon, Riley and Harper are such gorgeous characters. What they both went through, the way help heal and support each other - be prepared to cry. This book is heartfelt, witty, deep, mixed with funny banter, I loved it all over again.
Dianna has such a beautiful writing style. The depth of the stories and the characters really tug at the heart but she manages to put you back together and you can’t help but love all of the MMCs. Her books are an automatic buy for me now, I know without even reading the blurb that I will love it.
The narration was performed perfectly. Greg and Iggy brought these men to life, made me swoon that much more. ❤️
I’m really looking forward to reading Daniel’s book.
Things to expect in this MM romance are:
Boss x employee
Hurt/comfort
Non-sighted rep
Surviving an ex
Bi-awakening
Demi rep
Crying and laughing
Swoony HEA

Everyone needs a Riley in their life
This was an interesting story that could have been really depressing, one guy going blind and the other trying to run from an extremely abusive ex, but it wasn't. It was joyful, if that is the right word. Riley, while blind, brought so much light to all around him. He was game for anything. It was a great story of positivity and with him, he draws Harper into the light.
I loved reading it and couldn't wait for the audible version to come out. Our narrators, Greg Boudreaux and Iggy Toma, were perfect.
Dianna Roman's books are so good, she sure knows how to tell a story. There is some sadness, but it is also fun. A sad story doesn't have to be depressing.
We really all could do with a Riley in our lives and thankfully Harper found him.
Favourite quote, “My son came out of the womb with a smile on his face that’s rarely left it since that day,"
Highly recommend.

An emotional but beautiful story
Greg Boudreaux & Iggy Toma sound good together. Greg's performance was fantastic as usual, and Iggy kept up with him. Their voices were harmonious with each other.
The story was gorgeous. it will break your heart, but put it together again.
Highly recommended!
