She believes there is a predictable blueprint for how girls grow; seven easily recognisable "strands" of transition from childhood through adolescence and on to adulthood. Girls naturally develop at different rates, typically on more than one front, and the transition will be unique to every girl.
Each chapter describes a phase, such as "contending with adult authority" and "entering the romantic world", with hints and tips for parents and daughters, and a 'when to worry' section. Damour writes sympathetically and clearly, providing a practical and helpful guide for any parent, and for teenage girls too.

authentic and relatable
Absolutely loving this book. So easy to relate to each topic in this day and age with real life examples.
Enjoyed listening to each section and gaining more clarity and understanding why my daughter is behaving the way she does.

A Must-Read for Parents of Girls!
Some great information for parents and parental figures finding their way through the tween and teen years.
With a shining narration by the author, this book has helped me to better my skills in raising girls and provided support in navigating the years of adolescents in a new generation.
