About this listen

After eight years, Henley Calvert is headed home. Back to the family farm and small town she left behind, never to be thought of again. Too much regret and shame to bear. But she's the only one left to see to her family's legacy, so she must return to Ashfall and face all the ghosts that haunt her.

Gatlin Holt, the family farmhand, awaits her arrival, and lends a hand - in more ways than one. He reacquaints Henley with the lay of the land while helping her heal her soul with a new outlook on life. Yet every time she thinks some peace may be within reach, Henley hits another roadblock. The biggest of which is Keaton Cash - her childhood nemesis who owns the farm next door.

And no, it's not a love triangle. That's impossible when Henley's heart is closed, incapable of love.

Such a good book

My First book by SE Hall and it was brilliant . The character development was great and their story captured my attention from the first chapter. There is an untapped amount of memorable quotes that I will be reflecting on for a while.

The narrator was brilliant and did a great job with all the characters….. I forgot that there was only a single narrator ……and this never happens for me …well done

a suprise

I read the reviews on this story and everyone raved about Keaton F@#!+@!G Cash, but I'm not so sure. I think his diligence and support of H in the story is definitely alpha wonderful and worthy and I know he's Southern and mamas raise their boys to be gentlemen but sheesh, this almost has a 1950s quality about it which confuses me because as much as H is fragile she is also very strong and she shows it In certain chapters in the book.
So for her acquiescence, considering where her mind is, seems a bit conflicting.
the beginning of the plot is awesome, it does its job and pulls you in and keeps you guessing, however when the crux is revealed, for me, it was a semi catalyst as I honestly thought there was bigger reasons going on.
the best bit of the book was the twist near the end....that took the book deeper and addressed more issues. and that's were the hero really excels.
the writing was really well done and kept me listening.
brooke bloomingdale did a fantastic job as narrator with great voice changes and tones and inflections. can listen to her again.

♥️ Keaton & Henley ♥️

(Big Sigh) This Book was perfect! I absolutely loved everything about it! The storyline was beautiful and had ALL the emotional “feels” you want from a romance book.

Henley Calvert has returned to Ashfall to bury her mother who tragically died in a freak accident, and to claim her inheritance, the Double H cattle ranch.

Keaton Cash, is the smoking hot alpha hole from the neighbouring ranch, and Henley’s nemesis. He bulldozed his way back into her life the moment she returned home, and came to her rescue at the exact time she needed him. He also made it his life mission to convince her to stay in Ashfall and to win her heart. This man was so dayum fine in every sense of the word and I loved the way he took charge of Henley’s life, especially with the running of the farm. Henley didn’t stand a chance around him.

This story was soul crushing and bursting with all the feels of love and loss, so be prepared to break out the tissues. I loved characters and how beautifully they were portrayed and developed; each one oozing with so much personality. I also loved the storyline… it was so emotional at times, raw and realistic, and the bonus epilogue at the end… finished the book off perfectly.

I listened to the audio book together with the written version and I absolutely loved the way the narrator, Brooke Bloomingdale, brought the whole book to life. She did such an amazing job with the character’s voices that I was able to completely immersed myself into the storyline. I have no problem recommending to anyone loves reading small town western romance books.

love love love

A beautiful romance with all the trimmings..
A grieving Henley and a gorgeous nextdoor neighbour Keaton.
Having to overcome the grief and guilt, of loosing her mother and twin sister, coming back to run a farm she hasent stepped foot on for years. a sleazy ex and bitchy gossiping women from school.
Then in walks Keaton f*×^ing Cash, her neighbour and lifelong arch nemisis (or so she thought) who keeps rescuing and comforting Heanley at every turn.
This was my first SE Wells book and I will definitely be searching for more..
I absolutely loved the way Brooke Bloomfield narrated this story!!!
