once i started i couldnt stop!!
This book is an amazing beginning to a series that I have already listened to twice!!!
its' the series that keeps getting better and better.
I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy fiction and "coming of age" genres.
Wight has created an intricate world of magic and growth. We view the world from a number different perspectives that gives the reader the opportunity to understand things from a higher level.

Came here from LitRPG
Was on the prowl for my next LitRPG after DCC & HWFWM; and had seen this is a few progression based discussions.
In short - I Will be continuing very happily….
Long version…. Doesn’t surpass the enthusiasm of many of my top LitRPG’s, albeit fills the hole nicely.
It’s been a bonus to have an enjoyable progression-esk novel that is not isekai/LitRPG directly; although maintains the fantasy scape.
I would recommend reading this if you have also found yourself in the same genre space; as I am sure this series will become a good measurement. Alongside standing on its own merits well enough.

Interesting World, Middling Execution
The blinding pacing at the start mixed with info dumps and the odd character interactions now and then detract a from the book, but the concept is solid and its interesting to explore the Taoist/Eastern inspired magical world.

Bad English
Great story, great characters. I just wish the reader knew proper English. It's not leaped, it is lept. as much as I enjoyed the story, the North American English is thick in this one.

5 stars, but too short
Overall the narrator and story were excellent although it was too short and i almost finished it in 2 days already, probably could finish the whole Cradle series in less then 2 weeks which doesn't give you the bang for buck that i would like. Nonetheless i am enjoying it and had to purposely save the last hour because i don't want to finish it yet.

Entertaining
Quick and easy listen. Narration was excellent. Story started out well and conceptually is great, 100% plot driven but really loses it as the story progresses. Good enough to finish but lacks depth and could have fleshed things out more.

A certain favorite
I am now on my second listen of the 9 books currently available in this series. This storyline is brilliantly written, excellently preformed and completely addictive. Can't wait for more.
