excellent thought starter
This is a great, succinct initiation to the subject.
I suspect eventually the point will be that it will be unaffordable for society NOT to have a UBI (even if not in my lifetime). It promises to solve a multitude of problems. It confronts long running and seemingly intractable economic and technological trends head on, from increasing automation to secular shifts driving high savings and low demand.
By empowering the workforce, increasing demand, and poviding capitalism with increased investment opportunities and a more vigorous entrepreneurial milieu, it may even be the thing that finally bridges the gap between the Left and the Right.
In fact, it may be the nexus that bridges the chasm of many 'isms'.
But more than this, my sense is that it will write the next chapter of human flourishing.
Those that fear a UBI driven societal disincentivisation, need to think long and hard that the air we breath is free.
