Publisher's Summary

A coffin is dug up by builders in the grounds of a historic convent - inside is the body of a young nun.

In a city as old as London, the discovery is hardly surprising. But when scratch marks are found on the inside of the coffin lid, Detective Jane Tennison believes she has unearthed a mystery far darker than any she's investigated before.

However, not everyone agrees. Tennison's superiors dismiss it as a historic cold case, and the Church seems desperate to conceal the facts from the investigation.

It's clear that someone is hiding the truth and perhaps even the killer. Tennison must pray she can find both - before they are buried forever....

In Unholy Murder, Tennison must lift the lid on the most chilling murder case of her career to date....

not the best narrator

The story is good but I really didn't like the narration and kept wishing the narrator would just read the book instead of trying to be everyone... badly.
The story is full of twists and turns in true Lynda La Plante style., but it isn't her best book.

Still good!

I love the Jane Tennyson books. This was another good listen. Good plot, many suspects, good pace and plenty of goings on!!

Not recommended due to narrator

I must be honest, it was hard to follow the story due to the poor narration. I felt like a toddler being read a really inappropriate story at preschool by a lazy, half asleep teacher, with no talent at voices but hey, you have to do what you’re paid to do. The male voices all sounded like a woman imitating an 80s sleezebag for a laugh, and the foreign accents were borderline offensive. Almost worse was the attributions pulled me out every single time as they were so jarring (eg Jane said), which they had a whole different voice for. It became a running joke as we listened I’ve learned a lesson to read reviews on narrators as much as the books now. Such a shame.
