such an interesting story]
I usually steer away from espionage and spies but this one 'caught my attention.
I checked reviews which whet my appetite more.
I also learned some of the recent history of Sri Lanka just from enjoying this gripping book.

Harrowing story
Shedding light on the turbulent history of Sri Lanka, distressing and eye opening.
Excellent narration really brought the characters to life.

If you love a political thriller, read this
Firstly, the narration by both narrators was one of the best I have heard. They effortlessly switch from their natural accents to American, to Sri Lankan, English etc and it makes for that much more of an interesting and engaging experience. Love the plot twist at the end, I really did not see it coming. This book was really enjoyable and I am glad I took a chance on it. I look forward to move work from this Author and hopefully these two narrators.

Spy thriller unlike any other
Flawed, complex characters and Jason Bourne like action, set in turbulent, heartbreaking Sri Lankan political landscape. This was not what I expected but I was really sucked in. The sound design upped the suspense and I listened to this in three sessions.

Crime, drama, political, defining
Love the balance of so many themes in this novel. And love the references to Cinnamon Gardens, very different novels but loved both

Biased and inaccurate
A very one sided fictional story using the Sri Lankan war as the background which finished in 2009. Most of the story regarding the war was heavily exaggerated and the writer totally seems to promote the ideas of the Tamil Tigers diaspora. No real mention of all the suicide bombings and innocent civilian massacres done by the tigers in the 30 years of conflict. Not really sure what the writer is trying to achieve by re-opening old wounds of a country for the large part is now very peaceful.

Unfinished Business is thrilling!
I was completely sucked in by this audiobook! Shankari Chandran is a talented Australian writer and this is so different from her last book, but but equally enthralling. Loved the narration too!

Brilliant story, brilliant sound, brilliant acting!
LOVED! Such beautiful and gripping writing from Shankari, this drew me in and I couldn’t put it down. Some parts of the book gave me goosebumps, particularly some of the male narrator scenes - goosebumps and tears in a couple of his chapters!!
Wasn’t expecting Sound effects in this but they were great. It really boosted the story and put you in the scenes with the actors. Made it feel immersive and took me out of the real world and had me in Ellie’s world with her. An enthralling and poignant must listen!
