About this listen

On the heels of his 2010 New York Times bestseller Conspiracy of the Rich, Robert Kiyosaki takes a hard-hitting look at the factors that impact people from all walks of life as they struggle to cope with change and challenges that impact their financial world.

In Unfair Advantage: The Power of Financial Education Robert underscores his messages and challenges readers to change their context and act in a new way. Listeners are advised to stop blindly accepting that they are "disadvantaged" people with limited options. They are encouraged to act beyond their concept of limited options and challenge the preconception that they will struggle financially all of their lives.

Robert’s fresh approach to his time-tested messages includes clear, actionable steps that any individual or family can take, starting with education. Education becomes applied knowledge, a powerful tactic with measurable results.

In true Rich Dad style, readers will be challenged to understand two points of view, and experience how financial knowledge is their unfair advantage.

What does school teach you about money? In most cases, the answer is “Not much.” If there is any financial education, the courses are taught by financial planners and bankers… the agents of Wall Street and the big banks, the very people that caused and profited from the financial crisis.

This book is about real financial education. This book is about how debt and taxes make the rich richer…and why debt and taxes makes the poor and middle class struggle.

This book explains why the rich get richer, paying less in taxes, while the middle class shrinks - with many losing jobs, homes, and retirement—and paying more in taxes. This book is about the five unfair advantages a real financial education offers.

  • The Unfair Advantage of Knowledge
  • The Unfair Advantage of Taxes
  • The Unfair Advantage of Debt
  • The Unfair Advantage of Risk
  • The Unfair Advantage of Compensation

These five unfair advantages are the outcomes of real financial education.

I loved it!

I actually listened to the whole book, which means it held my interest since I do not finish many books.

I'm still at a beginner level and I am just starting to get a good grasp of how the economy, capitalism, money and politics really work.

a good honest take on everything.

Loved it, a true eye opener!

I give this book a 5 star rating because it is a true eye opener to the novice wanting to become wealthy.
It is not a get rich quick scheme but an introduction to financial education, which in turn, becomes financial freedom.....

My favourite book so far

This book is one of my favourite books I’ve read from the RDPD series. I must have read about 6 of his books now.

Do you have an unfair advantage?

This book cannot be more accurate in the power of your mind to give you that unfair advantage.
Knowledge will take you further than any material thing you have, any inheritance, or luck.

Not the Strength of Earlier RDPD books

If you have never read any of the RD/PD series, then the story of the rise and rise of Robert and his wife is nothing short of inspiring. However, much of this text revisits former material and is strongly flavoured with his views (or perhaps his Rich dad's views) on the political and economic demise of the United States.I was left with the impression that it was a precursor to a property "Bootcamp" or something similar (this is not offered,it was just the impression that something was missing). As an Australian Audible listener, his extensive reconfiguration of the USA retirement mechanism did not resonate and his "no recourse" bank refinancing had little Aussie equivalence. The narration style improves in the second half of the book but is somewhat dry in the earlier part and the pretend interview sequence "FAQ" might be compared to the highlighted boxes of the "Dummies " book series, which works for skimmers...but in an audio version it's just an annoyance. This is not one I will recommend to fellow Aussie investors, even though we all know the R D P D series.
