About this listen
Matthew Walsh doesn't have feelings, and he likes it that way. Between breathing life into his family's third generation Boston architecture shop, keeping the peace with his five siblings, and competing in triathlons, he doesn't have much time for feelings. At least that's the case until Lauren Halsted tumbles into his life.
The feisty, beautiful blonde isn't what he wants and definitely not what he expects. She's so much more. Lauren Halsted doesn't have time and that's turning into a real problem for her. Losing focus isn't something Lauren does with any regularity. She has checklists and to-do lists and action plans a mile long. She doesn't have distractions and she doesn't let anyone tell her what to do.
When she trips down a flight of stairs and into her architect's arms, she gives into distraction for one night. They weren't looking but they found each other anyway.

Nope - I hated him, instantly
Sorry, I didn’t even make it past chapter 2. His first thought when he saw her (a beautiful, successful and intellegent woman), was he that he wanted to... talk to her? Ha! Kiss her? Nope. Have sex with her? Nuh-uh. He fantasised about spanking her.
Just... NO. I am not a prude, but if a guy’s basic and primary response is to hurt/dominate a woman, that is NOT sexy or romantic.

Binge worthy
This had been giving off goofy grins and laugh out load moments as I listened.
Loved how it gets straight into the romance rather than this long winded story before the characters hook up.
Certainly steamy but not X rated.
Both narrator’s do a good job however the female male voice needs work.
Overall 4.5/5
Certainly a great listen and all the more while it’s on the free list

Smart, funny and steamy love story. Loved it!
Smart, funny and steamy love story. I love 2 narrators in a love story and know the different points of view of each main character.

Is it actually good? I don’t know.
I spent this whole book trying to figure out if I like it or not, and I’m still unsure. Here are my thoughts: as strange and borderline uncomfortable as Matthew’s inner monologue is, he’s the one I was really rooting for in this story. Lauren was super frustrating and combative for no discernible reason. If anyone has a reason to be tentative, surely it’s the character with serious childhood trauma. I don’t really see how being an ambitious, type-A woman from a super privileged background sets her up to be so emotionally unavailable. Also, the Erin subplot took up a lot of time considering it was never fully developed. “Not fully developed” is perhaps the best way to describe this book. Also, the female narrator’s male character voice makes him sound super robotic and doesn’t at all match the character that the male narrator crafted. Anyway, it’s a spicy romance read if you need one to fill some time.

great audio to listen to
I adored Underneath it All, but occasionally Lauren really drove me nuts with the whole denial over what she felt for Matthew, and the MUST stick to her plan thought process. Fabulous audiobook to listen to though, the narrators really nailed it.

Very enjoyable
Beautiful narration of well written love story. Juicy bits in there. I'll try to follow the stories of my favourite siblings of the lot which will be hard as they're all pretty cool

Very disappointing
I love Christian Fox and Lucy Rivers so that’s what brought me here.
I really liked the premise of the story and loved the chemistry between the two characters in the first couple of chapters but the story all went downhill for me when they first hook up.
The first sex scene was poorly written. Matt sounded like a 13 year old trying to dirty talk.
I also felt throughout the story the characters were lacking a real connection. I don’t mind an Insta love but this was way too much lol. Matt talking about soulmates on the first day, and then hounding her with a dozen texts the next day and showing up to her place was yikes. Big ol red flags lmao.
But also the story itself was incredibly boring and slow.
Just overall really disappoint.

Okay but not a favourite
Well narrated and enjoyed some funny bits but found the story a tad boring and without any real substance. Matt comes across as way too full on and Lauren ghosting him and being in denial grated after a while. I love the authors book 'In a Jam' but this one dosen't come close for me.
