About this listen
When a stranger comes to town, secrets are sure to come out. New York Times bestselling author Tamsyn Muir spins a twisty—and twisted—short story of revenge and survival.
A fresh-faced newcomer arrives in an isolated, gang-run town and soon finds herself taking a job nobody else wants: bodyguard to a ghoul. Not just your average mindless, half-rotted shuffler, though. Lucille is a dancer who can still put on her own lipstick and whose shows are half burlesque, half gladiator match. But the stranger is no stranger to this particular ghoul. Both women are undercover in their own way. And both have something to lose if their connection comes to light.
Tamsyn Muir’s Undercover is part of Into Shadow, an enthralling collection of dark fantasy stories about the lure of forbidden knowledge. Read or listen to each in a single sitting.

If only it was longer….
What I hate most in the world aside from real things like poverty, war, genocide and human nastiness are artists who are clearly brilliant and who create a completely immersive alternative reality that they draw you into and then the fing book stops when it fing begins and I want more!
First world problems. Her ninth series Sonetimes loss coherence and became confusing and you had to work for it, work to really understand what was going on! This book requires no effort to dive into but is sadly brilliantly engaging and fing short.
Hoping sone publisher will give her a retainer, get her writing more and sell the film rights to Hollywood where they will pay for the option and butcher it with their committee and making everything digestible for the mediocrity of the dopamine addicts who consume that sort of thing. This is far too innovative for Hollywood and that’s why it’s so damn good.
I just want the book! This left me cranky, tangy and wanting more more more…

Short but addictive
A little bit creepy, a little bit western. I had to pace myself to get the most out of this. I love the way Muir slowly reveals the fascinating worlds in her writing.
