About this listen
In the heart of the Bible Belt, lines are getting blurred.
Liam Rush has never ventured too far outside the fences of his family farm, so college is a pretty big deal for him. Now he can finally claim his own identity - one that doesn't involve football, hunting, farm work, or four overbearing brothers. But when he finds himself falling for the androgynous dancer at Trybe, where he works as a bouncer, things get confusing. He's never been attracted to guys before. Not really. And what would the folks back home say if they knew?
Japanese American mix Blake Himura has been on his own since he was 17, with no one to depend on but himself. He's mere months away from realizing his dream of graduating college and becoming a dance instructor. Unstable men don't factor into his plans, least of all "straight" boys who don't mind ruining other people's lives to keep their dirty little secrets. Liam is exactly the kind of complication Blake doesn't need in his life. Unfortunately his heart hasn't gotten the memo.

More passion and high drama in another great SSU romance!
Liam, a huge corn-fed SSU student, has gotten off on the wrong foot with slight, cocky dance student, Blake. When Liam gets a bouncer job and Blake gets a gogo dancing gig at the same night club, sparks fly. This had all the passion and over-the-top drama I’ve come to love in the SSU books, with Liam working hard to accept his feelings for Blake. The scenes with Liam’s family were sweet, the carpark fight was shocking, and the slow burn and chemistry off the charts! I felt uncomfortable with the use of ‘half-breed’ to describe Blake’s Japanese-American heritage, but maybe it’s not an offensive term in the USA? Chris Patton’s audio narration has been so pitch-perfect in this series, why don’t I see new audios by him? I’m sad this is the final book as we never got Seth’s HEA despite him being a prominent character throughout the series.

My pick of the series!
I loved that this had more in depth homophobia and struggling to deal with sexuality. College romance but with serious subjects, emotion and just enough angst.
Narration was great
