Michael Larsen (1961) er journalist og fik efter sin uddannelse fastansaettelse på B.T., hvor han daekkede filmstof. I 1992 debuterede han med den humoristiske roman Med livet i haelene. Det var dog først i 1994, han slog igennem med sin gennembrudsroman "Uden sikker viden", der er oversat til flere sprog og har gjort Michael Larsen til en de mest oversatte danske forfattere. I 2002 blev han indstillet til The International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award for sin krimiroman "Slangen i Sydney".
