Publisher's Summary

Russell Green is about to discover the importance of unconditional love.

At 32, Russell Green has it all: a loving family, a successful career and a beautiful house. But underneath his seemingly perfect life, cracks are beginning to appear...and no one is more surprised than Russ when the life he took for granted is turned upside down.

Finding himself single-handedly caring for his young daughter, London, whilst trying to launch his own business, the only thing Russ knows is that he must shelter London from the consequences of these changes.

Then a chance encounter with an old flame tempts him to take a chance on love again, and with the support of his family, Russ finally comes to understand the true nature of unconditional love.

Easy Listening

I finished this book in 2 days, I could not put it down. I love this type of story, just when you think your life is falling apart, it falls into place.

A very different Sparks novel... Until the end.

Wasn't fussed about the music. Sometimes it didn't seem to fit and almost overpowered the reader.
Good story with great characterisation. I spent most of the novel angry 😡 towards the character of Vivian but be prepared for the last few chapters in which you'll need the tissues again 😭!

Touching Story of a 21st Century Man

Against the backdrop of a heartfelt and touching first-person account, Nicholas Sparks explores the struggles of a modern man, weaving a tale around the complex relationships between a man and his parents, sister, daughter, employer, ex-wife and first love.. Finally, a writer who is able to portray men as feeling, caring and loving - not ruthlessly pursuing his next sexual conquest or corporate takeover. My only question is what will the ladies make of Russ Green. Is he weak for being sensitive, sometimes insecure and incredibly human?

Not NS' vest worn hut definitely lovely & worth it

I enjoy most of Nicholas Sparks' literature, this however was my least favourite that I have read/listened to in a while. still wonderfully written but just not as gripping as I'm used to from him. definitely worth the read though!

Why include music

In my opinion, unnecessary use of music which distracts the listener rather than enhancing
the experience.

blown away

A wonderfully written novel that was slow to begin with but became so engrossing. I was very sad that it came to an end. many pearls of wisdom, sad moments and happy moments. a brilliant performance by the narrator Ari Fliakos.
