Publisher's Summary
A woman wakes up to discover her new husband is missing and sets out on a wild race of power, politics and revenge in this international thriller from New York Times bestselling author Chris Pavone.
You think you know a person....
Ariel Price wakes up in Lisbon, alone. Her husband is gone—no warning, no note, not answering his phone. Something is wrong.
She starts with hotel security, then the police, then the American embassy, at each confronting questions she can't fully answer: What exactly is John doing in Lisbon? Why would he drag her along on his business trip? Who would want to harm him? And why does Ariel know so little about her new, much younger, husband?
The clock is ticking. Ariel is increasingly frustrated and desperate, running out of time, and the one person in the world who can help is the one person she least wants to ask....
Critic Reviews
"I defy anyone to read the first twenty pages of this breakneck novel, then try to put it down for five minutes. This is smart suspense at its very best." (John Grisham)
"Two Nights in Lisbon is his best yet. This one is not to be missed." (Karin Slaughter)

Best I've read for a while
This is the best thriller that I have read for a while. It my first by this author but won't be the last.
It was well read, although it just met the threshold of different voices for different characters and no more.
Many reviewers have said that it is too long, but maybe I am a strange person who likes these stories to be on the long side so that I can keep up.
Thoroughly enjoyable, one of my top 5 of this year.

Disbelief in Lisbon ..
The author attempts but for me, doesn’t quite pull off an ambitious narrative that contained too many holes with contrasting and opposing themes … outcome was easily predicted. Characters were mere outlines. Disappointing after good start.
