Publisher's Summary

Many critics believe Adam Gilchrist is the greatest wicketkeeper/batsman to have played the game, but Adam's huge popularity does not rest solely on his incredible track record. To his millions of fans around the world, it is the way he plays the game - rather than simply the sum of his achievements - that marks him out as one of the best-loved cricketers of his generation.

True Colours is his autobiography, and like the man himself it's incomparable. With unflinching honesty, intelligence, compassion and humour, Adam takes you into the world of cricket that few outside of the Australian team have ever seen. From his early struggles to establish himself, through to the giant achievements of the Australian test and one-day sides, True Colours offers an extraordinary window on Adam, on cricket's major stars and on the game itself.

Critic Reviews

"He writes as he bats; with gusto and complete transparency. You don't feel there is a dishonest word in the book." (The Guardian)

What a career

A fantastic recap of Adam Gilchrist's career, however the narrator William McInnes was rather annoying to follow. I felt particularly awkward when William imitated foreign accents. It was not required.

Gilly The Greatest Generational Gamesman

I could go on for ages here, but True Colours only confirmed what an equally standout man Gilly is when compared to his unparalleled deeds on the cricket field. A really heartwarming, humorous and inspirational story. Gilly, your guts and determination to make it as a Test match champion on your long journey just shows all good things do come to those who wait....if the wait is unwavering, constantly wanting and striving to better yourself, with 11\10 persistence. Just don't get behind the controls of a forklift again.....unless you are destroying a pallet of Six & Out CD's.

Excellent Read - Even for Non-Cricketers like Myself

Intrigued to read this book as I was born in Junee, at school with Adam’s sister & My Mum (an avid cricket fan) raves about, Adam Gilchrist.
I now see why!
What an admirable, impressive human being. Humorous to read about his parents instilling ‘old school’ values. A thoroughly enjoyable book, I laughed, cried & everything in between & for what it’s worth Adam…..I would’ve walked too 👍

Good book but had to stop after 5 minutes.. cant handle the reader, way to fast, absolutely no flow to his reading, and it sounds choppy and just un natural.
