Publisher's Summary

Who doesn’t love a treasure hunt?

When Emma, Liam, Sophia, and Oscar the cat find an old piece of paper in their attic, they see that it is a map of the house with a large red "X" at the bottom of the garden. The paper is dated 1821 and signed by "Benjamin", and the three friends immediately know what this means. Something valuable is buried there!

Soon they are at the end of the garden with a spade from their shed, digging into the ground to uncover what riches may have been left behind by their mysterious benefactor. And it isn’t long before they find something.

The treasure they find isn’t what you might expect to find buried at the bottom of your garden, but it is something that was much cherished by its owner. Can you imagine what it might be?

This great story for children of all ages, is a tale that is exciting and stimulates the imagination like only a treasure hunt can. And at the end of the story, kids can learn the rules to a game that was played many years ago and which will give them hours of fun, much as it did for Benjamin, almost 200 years ago.
