About this listen

An action-packed novel of warfare, courage and camaraderie in the Roman Empire, from the Sunday Times-best-selling author.

The gripping new Cato and Macro adventure in Simon Scarrow's best-selling Eagles of the Empire series. Not to be missed by readers of Conn Iggulden and Bernard Cornwell.

Tribune Cato and Centurion Macro are based on the eastern border of the Empire, facing Rome's deadly enemy, Parthia. The signs are that Parthia is preparing for war. And the two battle-hardened veterans are ready for their greatest-ever military challenge.

Good story

I have enjoyed all the Eagles of Empire books.
Impatiently waiting for book no 19. Always a great read however in my case a good listen. The narrator puts added life to the story.

Back to his best.

After not really enjoying the co-authored books Scarrow wrote that featured Cato and Macro, this book finds Mr Scarrow back to his best.

Probably my last one

I’ve read all the Cato and Macro books up to this one, but I think this might be my last. I’ve just had enough of the Cor blimey gov cockney gezzer character that macro’s become and the pompous comments of Cato. Cato was born a slave, not part of the aristocracy yet acts like everything is beneath him. It’s starting to annoy me too much so we may have to part ways.
