About this listen
21 October 1805: Britain, under Nelson, mastered the sea for six hours, annihilating her French and Spanish opponents. In Trafalgar: The Biography of a Battle, Roy Adkins embraces the battle, its prelude and its aftermath, in a narrative that is at once scholarly and breathtakingly exciting.

Historically accurate Trafalgar writing
A most interesting and informative account of a battle and period of time that had great significance for European history.

Napoleonic naval history in one volume
what an excellent audiobook. Engaging narration with period-sounding excepts from letters and reports. Although the subject matter is Trafalgar, the author works much of the pre and subsequent history in a most fascinating and satisfying version. The story of the hurricane which follows the battle was equally harrowing as the battle itself. The aftermath of key individuals was also very interesting and alas the neglect of the Sailors once their country stood no longer in desperate need was lamentable.
Thoroughly recommended
