About this listen
This is an autobiographical story about a spiritual journey. It documents the author's growth toward becoming a "spiritual man", as described by St. Paul in his Letter to the Corinthians: "'What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him', [...] Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who possess the Spirit. The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Cor 2:8-15 (RSV))
I embarked upon the journey described in this book when I was told in a vision to, "Mature. Be patient. Take life seriously. You will heal with your hands." I was not aware of the above scripture at that time. Trying to understand and respond to this vision on my own proved to be a tremendously difficult undertaking. As I groped for understanding, I stumbled into Lectio Divina. Through its practice, I have begun to understand the requirements of those words. I am thankful He warned me to be patient, mature, and take life seriously. Without that warning, I probably would have faltered and given up.
Still, at age 83, I press on, filled with joy and anticipation. The journey, has involved much growth, but I know it is not over until I am called. At any rate, because of my age, I thought it a good idea to record this much. The healing power has begun to grow recently. But, who knows when the journey ends? At least, this brings the listener down to date. My witness is intended to be to the praise and glory of our loving and mighty God. I am anxious to fully fulfill my destiny, but I am also anxious to see Him as He is. Hopefully, this book will inspire you to explore with me.
