About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
The thrilling next instalment in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan Jr. series
Jack Ryan Jr is on a simple job. An all-expenses paid trip to Israel in exchange for a of couple hours easy work, reporting back to an old friend at the CIA. What could be easier?
Jack is here merely as an observer, but as he settles into his work in the market, he sees the glint of a knife, and throws himself in front of a woman and her young son under attack.
Cover blown, he finds himself the target of trained killers. Alone and outgunned, Jack will have to use all his skills to protect the life of the child.

WOW!
even do not written hi Tom Clancy this was of equal brilliance in research, storyline and performance and was dripping from beginning to end. I loved it and I'm sure Tom Clancy would be extremely pleased.
some of the earlier books hi Tom Clancy will quite poorly edited with repetitions grammatical mistakes etc however, this one was not guilty of any of these things and I could not detect any grammatical errors or repeat although some of the words are the result of American English which sadly differs substantially from Real English but that aside it was a great listen.

Missed the Target.
Superb narration. Story played out more like a James Bond movie than a Tom Clancy novel. Entertaining, but really skimmed over the key traits to a Tom Clancy book, such as not focusing on spycraft or military hardware/vehicles, in favour of repetitive close combat scenarios. Characters did not feel fleshed out, more like stereotypes. Main character's motivation seems to disregard the multiple books prior in favour of an eye rolling cliche, and I get it, it's an action book but Jack Bond Jr. goes from misfortune to misfortune in the space of a week without his character growing or changing.
Would probably sit well to be adapted for streaming in the style with the Jack Ryan movies, and the John Clark movie on Amazon.

Started good, but then Don has "Jumped the shark"
story was good up until, super Jack did inhuman, stupid feats for a person he hadn't spent 5 minutes with.

Average and predictable plot
Average and predictable plot, lacks the detail and character building of previous adventures.
With an ending that is just……..

Uninspired
Small acts of violence interspaced with over-explanation and internal musings. Was 8 hours in when I realised I didn’t care what happened.

Clumsy story. Poor ending
The story started off ok... not great but it had me interested. Towards the end though, the writer seems to have forgotten they were writing a Jack Ryan Jr book and it went downhill fast.
The constant referencing of Ding and other campus members was / is getting annoying; bring them back into the story and create a more believable plot!
The endings are starting to feel rushed and poorly thought of.
It seems that Jack Jnr series is dying a slow death, and the book are at their end?
