About this listen

Limpy has a dream. A dream where cane toads and humans live happily together. Surely, this time Limpy will be able to show humans how nice cane toads can be? After all, it is Christmas. And isn't Christmas a time of peace and goodwill to all men? And cane toads? A hilarious story of one cane toad's quest to experience the true meaning of Christmas.©2008 Creative Input Pty Ltd. Editorial reviews

In this fun and silly story, a cane toad discovers the true meaning of Christmas when he sets out to improve human attitudes toward his warty brethren. After meeting Santa Claus one day on the road, Limpy decides that having a cane toad as one of Santa's helpers (instead of a reindeer) is just the ticket for getting Australians to see the reptiles in a new light. Author Morris Gleitzman performs the tale in a pleasant voice with just the right touch of dramatic intensity, and the musical interludes between chapters are enjoyable. A great seasonal story for teaching kids about being kind to animals.
