Sagen om den forsvundne 11-årige viser sig dog hurtigt at trække tråde tilbage til en sag fra 1980'erne. En 13-årig pige forsvandt dengang sporløst, og som udsending for Rejseholdet blev det Konrad Simonsens første uopklarede sag. Pigen blev aldrig fundet.
