About this listen

A TIKTOK sensation!

An unforgettable dark romantic fantasy novel about the siren with a taste for royal blood and the prince who has sworn to destroy her.

"Stellar world building and nonstop action will keep readers hooked on this twisted reimagining of 'The Little Mermaid'." - Booklist Online

Princess Lira is siren royalty and the most lethal of them all. With the hearts of seventeen princes in her collection, she is revered across the sea. Until a twist of fate forces her to kill one of her own. To punish her daughter, the Sea Queen transforms Lira into the one thing they loathe most - a human. Robbed of her song, Lira has until the winter solstice to deliver Prince Elian's heart to the Sea Queen or remain a human forever.

The ocean is the only place Prince Elian calls home, even though he is heir to the most powerful kingdom in the world. His calling? Ridding the world of the menace of the sirens. But when he rescues a drowning woman, it becomes clear that there's more to her than there first appeared.

She promises to help him find the key to destroying the sirens for good. But can he trust her?

Pretty good, wished it was darker

This was captivating for the first couple of chapters, loved the banter and the plot was interesting. I just wished it was more brutal and dark like during the first half of the book. Overall it was a pretty good story but it was a bit predictable and therefore not as climactic.

Nice twist on The Little Mermaid

Enjoyed the story. and the male reader is good. The female reader EXPRESSES unnecessary words and ruins it a little. accentuating when it's not needed, but otherwise enjoyable stort

Fantasy worth a read

The story itself was great. Kind of a Little Mermaid vibe going on. The narrators did a great job too however there were large patches that were done over and didnt match the previous audio which took me out of the story a lot of the time.

Dark reimagining of the little mermaid

I really wanted to love this. The opening was so good, the narration is gorgeous, and the world had so much potential. Unfortunately the world-building was very minimal (despite a fairly complex world, which could have been really interesting if it were more fleshed out). The middle section dragged after the action at the start, although the end was good. I ended up taking a big break in the middle because I just couldn’t convince myself to keep going, but I came back and finished it a few weeks later.

Fantastic start, slow finish.

This story had me instantly from the blurb and opening chapter - however as the book progressed I found that there were definitely parts that seemed to drag on and become dull. Overall, entertaining and ticks the box for fantasy/adventure hence the 3 stars.

Absolutely amazing

A book that ruined my sleep because I couldn't put it down

With me just finishing it I feel I'm about to cry because the adventure of pirates and royalty is over now
