About this listen

Dr. Jay Sorrentino is getting married in 10 days’ time to the girl of his dreams, so what the hell is he doing in a gay London club with a stupidly handsome stranger? As if calling off the wedding and alienating his friends and family isn’t enough, Jay also has to contend with starting a new job at a new hospital. So the last thing he needs is for the bloke from the club to be his prickly supervisor.

Dr. Lucien Avery is a difficult colleague. He’s also the unexpected and reluctant heir to the vast Rossingley estate. Reclusive and miserable, he hates most of his colleagues, people who eat packed lunches, and supervising junior doctors. That is, until the delectable Dr. Sorrentino turns up on his doorstep.

A light-hearted M/M contemporary romance, Rossingley takes place in Southern England and is centered around a fictional country house and estate by the same name. The first in the series, it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

should of listened to this sooner

When I first started to listen I thought omg what is this, then the chapters started.
Wow it was brilliant my emotions were all over the place one minute felt sorry for Lucien next could understand Jay's feelings. But together they were perfect they rocked one of my all time favourite couples and the story was perfect. You felt everything they went through.

My only disappointment was you never heard what Jay did in his eight weeks off, did he resolve things and how did he do that?? Also did Jay ever end up sticking up for Lucien whenn everyone put him down. So as great as it was it left you still wanting answers.

Brilliant though.

Passionate. Romantic. Emotional Bits. Super Sexy.

I read this less than a month ago but really needed an audiobook to chill to of a night and I'd enjoyed this in e-book so thought, why not give it a whirl? At first I wasn't sure about the choice of narrator but that passed quick sticks.
I enjoyed the e-book, gave it 4 stars, but in audiobook it came to vibrant life thanks to Richard Stranks' passionate and heartfelt narration. I want to mention that Stranks does use some interesting pronunciation for words at times - libido being one of them, there's more, but in all honesty, Stranks is unmitigated perfection as Dr Lucien Avery, aka Lord Duchamps-Avery, the sixteenth Earl of Rossingley. He does a very good job of Jay's accent as well. I could not wait to join this pair of an evening with Stranks' interpretation - sadness relayed with understanding of the story, his breathless pauses and whispers, Lucien and Jay's thoughts being processed but not yet said aloud to one another. The intimacy is also beyond the sexiest of sexy. The soul of this romance was on the fullest display as Lucien finds what and who he needs to soothe his battered and shuttered heart and Jay makes decisions about what and who he is and what and who he wants: Lucien.
To Hold a Hidden Pearl is beautiful, romantic contemporary gay romance storytelling in a delightful English setting. Hill's writing combined with Stranks' delivery makes this a must listen.
