Critic Reviews
'Debauchery, despair, deceit, and grisly death – what more could you ask for from a fairy tale? A luscious treat for fans of urban fantasy and romantic horror.' (Kirkus Reviews, Starred Review)

good addition to TFOTA series
story 4/5: If you're familiar with the folk of the air series by Holly Black, you'll recognize the MCs. This book goes into how Roiban and Kay met and took over the court of termites, but be patient as the beginning is slow as you're experiencing the world building from the perspective of a floundering teen.
narration 3/5: the narrator did okay and I liked all the various voice inflictions to denote the different characters, hower my biggest criticsm is the depiction of Roiban. He's scary and intimidating, but the narrators interpretation made him seem soft and feminine, with an inconsistent Irish lilt.
I enjoyed reading the novellas that expand on the world from this series and would recommend it to all ages looking for a bit of fiction to distract from reality.

boring, plot jumped around
I listen to audio books when I clean my house to help pass the time. this didn't help pass the time. too much smoking that added nothing to the plot. it's 2024! how did that even get through? plot was all over the place.
