About this listen
A Sabbat Worlds novel.
When the vital forge world of Orestes comes under attack by a legion of Chaos Titans, the planet is forced to appeal for help. The Titans of Legio Invicta respond, committing their own force of war engines to the battle.
Listen to it because....
It's a vision of total war in the 41st millennium, from the smallest soldier to the largest God-Machine.
The story:
When the vital forge world of Orestes comes under attack by a legion of Chaos Titans, the planet is forced to appeal for help. The Titans of Legio Invicta, although fresh from combat and in desperate need of refit and repair, respond, committing their own force of war engines to the battle. As the god-machines stride to war, the world trembles, for the devastation they unleash could destroy the very world they have pledged to save.
Written by Dan Abnett. Narrated by Toby Longworth. Run time 13 hours and 39 minutes

an uphill listen with beautiful scenery
first, ill admit this, the story is very inconsistent. but once you start picturing it like a movie, the story shifting from one scene to another becomes quite titillating.
it leaves you wondering what will happen next, a real page turner in audio form with excellent narration to boot. the malleability of mr longworths voice is exquisite and satisfying to listen to. with a bit of audio editing, this book would be on an entirely new level.
the story is *chef's kiss* i found myself surprised at how long each chapter was as it gripped tight my attention and intrigue to the point where each part felt like a mere few minutes.
and the titans. despite the title painting it as a book about the colossal machines exclusively, it also does an excellent job at portraying the intricate in-world culture surrounding titans. it tells you things like how the common citizens feel about titans, what kind of impact they have on daily functions, even the soldiers and administratum's perspectives on titans. its more than just big machines fighting, it pulls back the curtain to display a very awesome facet of the mechanicum, like a front row seat viewing of the mechanicum administration, the lives of common hive dwellers, the struggles of both the trained imperial soldiers and the undisciplined civilian militia reserve, and more importantly the functions of titan command interiors.
im still very new to the warhammer franchise but now after listening to this, i want a titan of my own!!
all in all, its a great read(listen). though it might pay to keep a notebook around to jot down the names of its characters to prevent yourself from getting lost.
my favorite quote from the book:
"NEKROMANT INVIDIOSA!!"
- chaos titan Necromant invidiosa

Make this into a Movie Please!
One of the most human 40K stories I’ve read.
Captures the vast scale of warfare with the often farcically incidental human face of combat. Coupled with equally compelling high stakes nature of Mechanicus to Imperial politics makes this a really great story that could be turned into a screenplay. Thanks to Toby for his great performance. Really loved his Skitarii characterisation!

choppy
I was hoping this was going to be a good story however it is to choppy to many characters impossible to follow for a story called titanicus it doesn't focus on the war machines enough it focuses on characters that you don't care about... because the story is called titanicus honestly I've seen less dramatisation of unimportant things in the tv drama days of our lives. I'll refer you to that chick's husband that ran away from the guard for no reason and got killed all for an extra chapter it was pointless this novel is not worth the money unfortunately I wish it was it just isn't.
