About this listen
Christmas in a Cornish seaside town, bright lights, and a hot new romance to ward off the winter storms...what could be finer? But Gideon and Lee's first festive season together is shockingly interrupted when Lee tries to rid a client's home of a malevolent presence. The ritual goes wrong, and in its aftermath Lee is strangely altered.
As well as dealing with the changes in his lover, Gideon has a sinister thread to follow, linking the haunted house with disappearances among the homeless people of Falmouth. Can love withstand what looks like a case of possession?
As the darkest night of the year comes down, Gideon finds himself locked in a battle to restore his lover's soul.

A collection of weird events doesn’t make a story
Gideon Frayne is looking forward to spending a pleasant Christmas with Lee Tyack in Lee’s coastal Cornish town but a series of unusual occurrences, including a haunted house, disrupt their plans. They seek help from Gideon’s eccentric family - not the ideal way to meet the in-laws! While Gideon and Lee’s relationship progressed, it was the only thing that did, and I found the unfocussed plot frustrating. This second book is again very short (97 pg, audio: 3.5 hrs) and it was more a collection of chapters cataloguing weird events than a complete work. Don’t get me wrong, each scene was impressively creepy and interesting, but none of them resolved, so I was left feeling confused with a book that just seemed to end suddenly. Don’t know if I’ll keep going with this series. Audio narrator Tim Gilbert performed well.
