4 1/2 stars for an amazingly complex story

This story didn't pike out. It was at times brutal and bloody. Didn't quite nail the ends down for me, so I couldn't give it a full five, and my brain was so bamboozled by the time travel mechanics and plot that by the end I had no idea if things were making sense or not, and just had to have faith that the author had kept it all straight in her head at least...
