Publisher's Summary

A world in ruins. A bleak future. A last chance at salvation.

The world of Awaken Online has been transformed. Gloria Bastion's attempt to destroy the game world failed, yet she unleashed a power that has brought the former avatars forward in time. And accompanying them are their cities and armies. Creatures, warriors, and mages from a time when the game world was fresh and new...but also more savage and unrelenting.

Our heroes now face a bleak situation. They have nowhere to go, their cities and people are under attack, and they face an army of angry travelers—the very same people who came to watch the end of the game world. Needless to say, things are looking bad....

That is, until a new character emerges. Arcadia Landrey—the earth avatar. Her account has just been unfrozen, and with that comes an opportunity. One she poses to none other than Jason.

Their future might look dire.

But perhaps redemption can be found in the past....

Brilliant progression

Another brilliant visit to AO, Bagwell shows again that he is a master of his craft. The plot thickens let's see where our dark lord ends up next.

Another great AO tale

It’s always impressive how Travis keeps finding ways to push the story further in entertaining and mind bending ways. Add in David’s great voice with and the experience is always fantastic. Looking forward to the next one!

Another chapter

Once again another interesting instalment in the Awaken Online Series.
Trying not to spoil anything, I like the direction this book took and setup for additional books.

I’ve started wondering with this series if Travis should have done the book series with Jason as the sole main protagonist, as I’m starting to worry about cast blowout. This leads to my main concern.
While I love the character diversity, I’m very sorry to say that I don’t think David Stifel can keep up as a narrator. The character voices are so similar, I would often have to wait for the “Said Jason” to know who said what. Which is disappointing as I feel David, who has been with us from the start, is the Voice (and almost a character in his own right) of AOL.

Regardless, a decent next chapter in the ALO series.
