About this listen
Miro Jones is living the life; he's got his exciting, fulfilling job as a US deputy marshal, his gorgeous Greystone in suburban Chicago, his beloved adopted family, and most importantly, the man who captured his heart, Ian Doyle. Problem is, Ian isn't just his partner at work - Ian's a soldier through and through. That commitment takes him away from Miro, unexpectedly and often, and it's casting a shadow over what could be everything Miro could ever dream of.
Work isn't the same without Ian. Home isn't the same, either, and Miro's having to face his fears alone...how to keep it together at the office, how to survive looming threats from the past, and worst of all, how to keep living without Ian's rock-solid presence at his side. His life is tied up in knots, but what if unknotting them requires something more permanent? What would that mean for him and Ian? Miro's stuck between two bad choices, and sometimes the only way to get out of the knot is to hold tight to your lifeline and pull.

Storyline = 4 1/2 stars
Really enjoying how the Marshals series is progressing. I feel like the reader gets to know the rest of the Marshals that work with Miro & Ian more in this instalment. I'm loving the scenes with them all working together and backing each other up.
There are a lot of characters across this series - all of the Marshals, Miro's 'family', Miro & Ian's 'kids' (as they are called by everyone in the office, from witness protection), Ian's colleagues from his other job. However it doesn't at all feel overwhelming, they all play a part in the storyline and keep it interesting.
Once again I loved the performance of the narrator, he is so enjoyable to listen and I can see myself listening to this series again soon.

This has got to be one of my favourite couples to revisit again and again.
Mero has the man .... but does he really
Ian is constantly away with the marines and when he is Mero can’t sleep and has no backup at work.
Mero has to make some decisions about what he can do because he can’t keep holding his breath waiting for Ian to come home.
This is a great series based around these two head strong men just trying to short their shit out while
juggling work, family & and serial killers.
Mary Calmes is always a good bet for your credits.
