About this listen

Five women, best friends for decades, meet once a month to talk about books...and life, love and the jagged bits in between. Dissecting each other's lives seems the most natural thing in the world - and honesty, no matter how brutal, is something they treasure. But each woman harbours a complex secret, and one weekend, without warning, everything comes unstuck.

Izzy has to make a decision that will change everything whilst Veronica, recently divorced and dedicated to raising the best sons in the world, has forgotten who she is. Xanthe, desperate for a baby, can think of nothing else, even at the expense of her marriage.

When their circle begins to fracture, is their sense of sisterhood enough to keep it intact? How well do these tiddas really know each other?

loved it!!

absolutely loved it! I laughed, smiled, cried! and as a wiradjuri woman who didn't grow up on country or with culture i felt connected. I'm so upset that I discovered this on closing week of the play in Brisbane. I would recommend over and over!!

oh my heart..

loved it. Loves how it's 40 year olds, and enjoyed where they are in life. Learning about culture too. Narration was smooth and wonderful, would have liked better demarcation of the characters, similar to chapter headings.

Great Story

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is a very engaging story read by an eloquent pleasant voiced reader.

generic

I was blown away by Anita Heiss' beautiful Bila Yarrudhanggalangdhuray and was looking for more of the same from Tiddas.
Sadly, Tiddas was just so generic. The characters were cliche and had no depth. I felt like I was listening to an episode of sex and the city.
I really struggled to finish it. the last chapter was so rushed and there was no satisfaction in the end.

Book club pick

This was picked by my book club, not a story I would ever normally pick but I gave it a go, the characters were all pretty boring and very similar, nothing much happens apart from one woman trying for a baby another having one and one realises she’s an alcoholic. All the men are rubbish characters also. Definitely not my kind of book.
