Publisher's Summary

Fisher Stevens is 17 and autistic.... He lives with his dad. His mom passed away after a long illness. Fisher's brain sees hundreds of pictures each minute. He also discovers that he and his autistic friends possess amazing powers of the mind, including telekinesis and telepathy. With the help of a mysterious mentor, Fisher and his friends harness these abilities to fight evil.

This is an adventure for all ages, filled with magic, excitement, and humor. The author's son, Michael Nelson, is the inspiration behind the main character. Many parts of the book are also based on true incidents - for example, the scene where Fisher locks his dad in the basement...naked, as a joke.

This is not a book about how it feels to be autistic, nor is it a preachy book that lectures the reader on the woes of autism. It is a book that teaches enlightenment in an enjoyable way. The goal of the author is to use fiction to gently remove the insecurities that many people have toward those with mental disabilities. This is also a great book for middle school students and their teachers. It is a short, easy listen.

The audiobook was produced by Pace University's Education Department and was performed by Pace University Drama students. Thus, it's a great listen-along project, and can also be enjoyed by special needs students who are unable to read. The book is used as a text by Pace University's Special Education classes. This is a great way to educate kids about autism and tolerance in a fun way.

Recommended for ages 12 and up. The book is also available in one volume with the other two books - Fisher's Autism Trilogy. Please give this wonderful paranormal adventure a try and stretch your mind a bit.
